Energy Self-Shares

The energy self-shares are a great way to practice self-sessions and to ask questions about your practice of self-sessions. We will meet for two hours. We may go over other ways to make your self-sessions more enjoyable and ways to fit them in your busy day. Each person will be doing a 20 to 30 minute self-session. We will have a discussion after the session. This is great to attend if you have gotten out of practice to do self-sessions or to just to get feedback from other practitioners of their experiences of self-sessions. The energy self-shares are for practitioners only. Check the calendar for dates and times to attend. The cost is $10 per person. The location is: 18216 N. 11th Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85023.

 

Grounding Technique

Grounding is an energetic or physical connection to mother earth. The energetic connection is done by visualizing your body connecting to the earth and the core of the earth. The physical connection can be done by walking the bare earth - grass, sand, and dirt with your bare feet. Another good way is by hugging a tree.

Grounding is a great exercise to do for many reasons. Here are but a few: If you feel lightheaded or dizzy. A grounding exercise can be done before or after a meditation. You can ground yourself before or after an energy work session. When you are in a crowded place and feel overwhelmed. A grounding exercise is great for adults and kids!

There are thousands of ways to ground yourself. Here are a few:

  1. Visualize roots growing from the bottom of both feet into the earth. Push the roots to the center or core of the earth. Once your roots reach the core, pull up the warm energy of the core bck throught the roots until the energy reaches your feet. Once the energy reaches the feet, push it up both legs, then the stomach, guide the energy to your heart and have the energy stop at the heart. Then visualize golden light comming from Source or God energy to the top of your head. Once the energy reaches your head, guide the energy down your throat and chest, once it reaches the heart have the energy stop at the heart. You are now connected to the earth and Source or God energy.
  2. If you go outside and find a nice tree to hug. You can stay as long as needed.
  3. Earthing: Find a space where you can walk, stand, or sit on the bare earth. This could be on the grass, sand, or dirt. Take your time when you walk around the area. You can stand in one spot or sit. How about doing a mixture of walking, standing, or sitting? Any amount of time is good, but 15-20 minutes is good.
  4. You can also use some grounding crystals too. Any kind of black or brown crystals like a Smoky Quartz, Black Tourmaline or many others are great for grounding. The cool thing about crystals is you can wear as jewelery, put them in your pocket, or just put them on your body. Remember to cleanse your crystals after using them.

Meditation Classes for Schools

Reiki Harmony Center is now offering meditation classes for the school environment to provide students an outlet for stresses and anxiety that is known to affect behavior and performance.

What is Meditation?
The word meditation is derived from two Latin words: meditari - to think, tow dwell upon, to exercise the mind, and mederi (to heal). Whatever you do with awareness is meditation. Driving your car, gardening, watching your breath and listening to the birds could be considered meditation. Meditation means a cessation of the thought process. It describes a state of consciousness, when the mind is free of scattered thoughts. Using meditation you learn the patterns and habits of your mind, body, and spirit. The practice offers a means to cultivate new and more positive ways of being. With regular meditation you will have a more focused state of mind that can deepen into a profoundly peaceful state of mind.

Benefits of Meditation:

  • Protects the body from disease
  • Significantly improves focus and concentration
  • Decrease in bad behavior
  • Decrease in anxiety, depression and pain
  • Increase in student attendance and student grades
  • Dissolve social stereotypes
  • And many more.

Meditation classes include a guided meditation, breathing techniques, and guiding the student into a safe space of their choosing. Meditations are led by Mike Hilwig.

Meditation classes for school meet the demands of today's students. Students will see better results if they attend the meditation class on a regular basis, preferably every week; however, attendance is completely voluntary.

Meditation classes are typically 30 minutes long:

  • 5 minutes for introductions, review of meditation and benefits
  • 15 minutes for the meditation, breathing, safe space, guided meditation
  • 10 minutes for discussion of experiences and questions

The Chakra Color Therapy Bands Kit comes with eight different colored bands that can be used to balance each of the seven main chakras.
